A four-year-old boy with speech difficulties read the number on his toy police car to call emergency services after his mom had a seizure.
Mom Charlotte Khan fell over in their home in Nottingham, England, and cut her head, knocking herself unconscious.
Her young son Essa jumped into action and used his toy police car which had 999, the emergency services number in the U.K., written on it to call for help.
The 25-year-old mom fell after suffering a seizure at their home. Dad Dilawer was out working just leaving brave Essa to deal with the emergency.
Despite only being 4 years old and with delayed speech the smart little boy called police and spent 17 minutes on the phone trying to explain that his mom needed help.
He told police officers “muma fall down,” as per the Sun newspaper. He even posted the keys through the front door so police could gain access to the house and help Charlotte.
Mom Charlotte says she is in awe of her son.
“I am so proud of him. Even the police were saying that they couldn’t believe what he had managed to do,” she said.
“Because of his speech delay they were able to just pick up some words that he was saying on the phone like ‘muma fall down’ and ‘muma hurt’ – things like that.
“But he was still able to tell the phone operator what had happened and that we needed help, in what was a 17 minute phone call.”
After Essa called emergency services four police officers came round to help before an ambulance arrived to check on Charlotte.
“When the police came they were able to wake me up and without them coming I don’t know how long I would have been unconscious for,” mom Charlotte said.
PC Reece Morris, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “For such a young lad he really did a fantastic job for his mom and should be really proud of himself.
“He kept calm, remembered what he’d learned about the police and did exactly the right thing.”
This boy deserves the biggest treat and honor for his actions that day; what an amazing young boy.
Help us celebrate this brave four-year-old by sharing this story.
