‘Sex and the City’ star dies age 60, leaving fans devastated

Eddie Driscoll, ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Mad Men’ Actor has passed away aged 60. Driscoll, who was known for his appearances on the hit television shows Sex and the City and Mad Men, had reportedly been suffering from stomach cancer.

His longtime friend Jimmy Palumbo told the media that Driscoll passed away on December 15, after a months-long battle with stomach cancer. According to the news, Driscoll had suffered from a saddle pulmonary embolism. According to expert websites, this condition is when a blood clot blocks and stops the flow of blood to an artery in the lung,

“He could do it all — sing, dance, act, comedy,” Palumbo shared with the outlet. “He worked all the time. He was always booking work. Everyone that worked with him loved him.”

According to a media report, a celebration of life was held for Driscoll in January at a Los Angeles-area karaoke bar.

“So many people showed up,” Palumbo shared. “I call it the underbelly of L.A. showbiz. There were stars in the room, there were working actors, but there was also this underbelly. His friend base was pretty interesting.”

According to some reports, Driscoll had studied at the University of Miami before he took part in an apprenticeship program at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre in Palm Beach, Florida. Reportedly, he was studying alongside heavyweights who showed him the ropes such as Carol Burnett and Reynolds himself.

Driscoll appeared alongside Reynolds in several projects, including Physical Evidence and Breaking In. In the early 1990s, he also appeared on Reynolds’ TV shows B.L. Stryker and Evening Shade. He looks so familiar because the actor has appeared in a variety of hit television shows, which includes Days of Our LivesThe King of QueensCSI: MiamiEntourageDesperate HousewivesThis Is Us, and The Last Ship, on which he played the recurring role as Randall Croft.

He hosted a show for two decades at the now-closed karaoke bar in Burbank dubbed Dimples. He then moved on to the Fox Fire Room, where his celebration of life was held last month. Driscoll is survived by his brother, Danny.
